Aurora Illustration

Jenna Canaday is a watercolor illustration artist. Growing up she fell in love with storytelling through art, and dreamed of one day inspiring others through visual arts in her own way. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in illustration in Indiana, she returned home to the enchanting small forest the Black Hills of South Dakota. Her education has trained her to use dynamic composition and color theory to elevate the narrative within each piece. She created Aurora Illustration in 2018 and has been focusing on her art career ever since.

Jenna’s artwork is known for its focus on fantasy, with a soft atmosphere that seeks to draw the viewer into another realm. Her work explores familiar epic stories and fairy tales reimagined in her own style, as well as original characters with themes of romance, connection to nature, and magic.

When not in the studio painting, she can be found exploring her local magical forest, the Black Hills, finding shiny rocks to add to her collection. She also takes care of her orange cat Marik, and black cat Seto, who motivate her to succeed in order to continue to feed them… Because they are always hungry.
